Hyderabad, Feb 23: Sleuths of the elite National Security Agency had reportedly identified 8 terrorists who might have triggered off twin blasts in the Dilsukhnagar area of the capital, causing the death of 17 persons and injuries to over one hundred.
NSA experts have been examining and analyzing the footage of the CC TVs at the Rajiv Junction and the Sai Baba temple in the area. They reportedly identified 8 persons with known terrorist links, moving in the area just before the blast.
Police and the NSA agents are now trying to locate these persons. Already all the borders were sealed on them. Personnel manning the borders are on the lookout for these terror suspects say sources. Even airports were alerted for them.
NSA agents are particularly focusing on one individual caught on the CC camera. The man believed to be in his early thirties was seen reaching the place on a bicycle with a bag hung to its carrier a few minutes before the blasts. He was seen reaching the area at 6.38 p.m, 10 minutes before the blast at Anand Tiffin Centre in front of Konark theatre. The second blast took place at 7.01 pm a few meters away. The bombs at both the places were planted on old bicycles. The surveillance camera installed in front of Dilsukhnagar bus station captured the image of the suspect. However, as his face was not clearly visible, the police are taking the help of experts.
Meanwhile, Cyberabad police commissioner Dwaraka Tirumala Rao also confirmed that there was a major breakthrough in the investigation. Though he did not specify what that breakthrough was, he said the investigating officers had got some major clues that would soon lead to nabbing of the terrorists. He also announced a reward of Rs. 20 lakh for information on the suspects, which is sufficient for people to pass on information about the terrorists.
On Friday, NSA sleuths visited the Chanchalguda jail and enquired with the jail authorities about some terror under trials and convicts lodged there. More than 300 personnel of the NSA and state police are engaged in the investigation.
Police are also examining the CC TV footage of nearby malls and commercial complexes. They are also searching the internet centers in the area and enquiring if any suspicious persons sent emails from there. They are also thoroughly examining the hard discs of these centers for clues about suspicious messages. They already identified some suspicious telephone calls made from Hyderabad to different locations.
