Review: Mirchi

Banner: U.V.Creations

Producer: Vamshi Krishna Reddy, Pramod

Director: Koratala Shiva

Music: Devi Sri Prasad

Casting:  Prabhas, Anushka, Richa Gangopadhyaya, Nadiya, Hamsa Nandini, Subbaraju, Sampath, Nagineedu, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, Hema and others

Rating: 2.5/5.0

Story: Manasa (Richa) falls in love with Italian based architect Jai (Prabhas) when he saves her from eve-teasers. However when he reciprocates, she stops him revealing that he will lose his happiness if he enters her family as her hubby in Iragavaram, Macherla district.

But to her shock, Jai reenters her life as her brother's friend to spend vacation in their village along with their family members comprising of Nagineedu, Bannerjee, Sampath Raj and Subbaraju.

Jai comes to know that their family has some old rivalry with Deva (Satyaraj) and the villagers of Rentachintala. He uses his charm, changes all and when Manasa's family members give their consent for their marriage, Jai reveals a shocking truth to Manasa. What is that shocking truth should be found out on the silver screen.

Performance: Prabhas is tailor made for these kind of roles and he once again excelled in dances, stunts and acting. He carried the film, making his presence felt in most of the scenes.

Richa Gangopadhyaya got the main heroine role and she did well. She looked hot. Anushka though put on weight, looked beautiful. Both the heroines did not have much scope for performances. Satyaraj did a good job as Prabhas' father, while Nadiya as his mother showed she still got those looks.

Brahmanandam tried his best to make people laugh. Others like Ajay, Sampath Raj, Aditya Menon, Bannerjee did their jobs.

Technical: There as many scenes that Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao could have attended to, during editing. Devi Sri Prasad's music is good and choreography to his songs is also good. Production values are good. Background score elevated the film.

Analysis: Koratala Siva became too predictable with his story. It reminds all of 'Sankham', 'Dammu' and Brindavanam. This is the major drawback and his inexperience in direction department is visible on silver screen. Tempo slowed suddenly in between and it suddenly picked up at places, confusing the viewers. Climax could have been better. His class as writer is still seen in powerful dialogues. Screen play and direction let the film down.

Plus points:

-Prabhas' stunts, looks and dialogues.some of them include  'cutout choosi konni konni nammeyaali dude', "Nuvvu maa ooru raavaalante sketch vesukini raavaali...nenaite hanger ki unna shirt vesukochchestaa", 'Premiste Poidemundi..'..

-Richa Gangopadhyaya, Anushka's beauty

-Brahmanandam's comedy

-Songs like Darlige...osi naa darlinge...', 'mirchi...' Yahoon yahoon....Let's party party right now...'

-Hamsa Nandini hot number

Minus points:

-Predictable storyline

-Weak screenplay, direction

-Weak climax

-Slow tempo in the film

Final Talk: Craze for Prabhas should make Mirchi hot.
