Das (Srikanth) lives in a small Basthi and makes his living with small settlements in the area. A young lawyer Krishnaveni (Bhavana) rescues Das from a petty thief case knowing his good heart and helping nature. Their association soon turns into love. Krishnaveni able to influence Das from quitting goondagiri and pursue career in acting. Das joins the camp of local MLA Dada (Jaya Prakash Reddy) who got some influence in the industry.
 
On the other side of the story, Kala Rani (Jyothi) a powerful rich woman wants to convert the Basthi into SEZ. Dada joins hands with Kala Rani after settling the deal for Rs 200.00 Cr. Das who was loyal to Dada all these days believing him as a good politician and confronts him after knowing his true colours.

Das decides to contest opposite Dada in elections. Krishnaveni and local artists tries to influence Das with Mahatma Gandhi principles and ideologies. How he implements them and succeeds is the rest of the story.

Bhavana gives a neat performance in her limits. Her role is instrumental in bringing the change in Das and she justified her selection with her performance.

Jaya Prakash Reddy scored more points for his wily yet innocent expressions as a corrupted politician. Uttej is good as Rahman. Ahuthi Prasad is adequate. Duvvasi small episode raises few laughs but Brahmanandam disappoints. Jyothi acted well in negative role. Paruchuri acted well.

Ram Jagan who played a street-artist role and donned different get-ups of leading Telugu legends acted well. Shekar as a local leader is good.

Charmee's item song adds glamour quotient to the film.

Editing is good and screenplay is not up to the mark. Cinematography by Sharat is not up to the mark. Dialogues in the film are excellent and thought provoking. Lyrics by Seetharama Sastry are good. Music and Rerecording by Vijay Anand is average.

Overall the movie is a message oriented film with commercial ingredients. The film is worth a watch for its brave attempt on ideology of Mahatma Gandhi. It would have even better if the narration is serious and intense like any other good movies of Krishna Vamsi.
