New Delhi, Feb 22: Congress powered Ruling UPA dispension at the Centre, stung by Election Commission's notices to its ministers on code violation is contemplating to make EC powerless by cutting its teeth. Government is planning to take away powers of EC on issuing code violation notices. 

It want to make that power to be at the jurisdiction of the courts. This move will enable parties to get away with code violations as the process with Courts taking a decision will be cumbersome. Already opposition is up in arms against any such move.
