Story

Veera Babu (Allari Naresh), right hand man of MLA Jacket Janakiram (Jaya Prakash Reddy), lands his friend in trouble Soori Babu (Sunil) who was about to get married to Krishnaveni(Poorna), when the MLA plans to perform mass marriages.

Veera Babu falls for a girl Vasanti (Chitra Shukla) who aspires to become a police through honest means. Her mother Mangamma(Jhansi) however gives Veera Babu 10 lakhs to get police job for her daughter without her knowledge.

Even as they wriggle out of the troubles, MLA goes into coma after a car accident. To find out where this leads to, enjoy Silly Fellows on silver screen.

Performance

Allari Naresh tried his best to attract viewers but he failed with his comedy. Except for few scenes, he just passed through the motions. Sunil failed miserably both in his looks and performance. It is high time he reinvent himself making an introspection.

Chitra Shukla is OK in her role as a inspector but failed to attract viewers with her looks or performance. So too is Poorna who got limited role.

Others like Brahmanandam, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Posani Krishna Murali, Raja Raveendra, Chalapati Rao, Adurs Raghu, Jhansi, Hema got limited scope to showcase their talent on screen.

Technical

Sri Vasanth failed with his music and background score. None of the songs are appealing or attractive. Most of them acted as speedbrakers. Even the background score turned mediocre and failed to elevate the scenes.

Anish Tarun attracted with his cinematography. He beautified the film much relief of the movie lovers. Gautam Raju's editing left a lot to be desired. There are many drags in the film through out the film. Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao could have added few more twists and turns to make the film more interesting. Production values are good.

Analysis

Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao who is known to score hits with the remakes this time came with another remake. Silly Fellows is a remake of Tamil film Valainu Vandhutta Vallaikaran. The film was earlier dubbed and released in Telugu as Prema Leela Pelli Gola.

Right from the start to finish Bheemaneni though tried his best to attract movie lovers with hilarious scenes between Sunil and Naresh, failed to do so, because they turned routine and tested the patience of the viewers.

Allari Naresh and Sunil combination generated huge interest among movie lovers. However despite the presence of both of them in the film, they failed to attract viewers.

Except for few scenes, all the characters despite most of them known comedians ended up torturing the movie lovers. Bheemaneni failed with his story, screenplay and direction. While first half turned out to be little OK, second half gave immense torture to viewers making them runaway towards the exit doors.

Final Talk

Silly Fellows turn Torture Fellows.
