Story

Vijay (Sai Tej) develops an accident alert app and tries to find joint venture but despite his honest and sincere efforts, many companies reject him and with the passage of time, he gets branded as a loser and a rejected piece.

To find out what he has in store in future and what connection Lahari (Kalyani Priyadarshan), Swescha (Nivetha Pethuraj) has in his life, enjoy Chitralahari on silver screen.

Performances

Sai Dharam Tej came with a subdued and balanced performance in the film. He worked hard, put on weight and came with good expressions and emotions to attract viewers. However still he has lot of scope to improve on his expressions and dialogue delivery.

Kalyani Priyadarshan and Nivetha Pethuraj got limited scope to perform in their roles. They did well with in their limitations. However they should improve on their looks for better prospects.

Sunil and Vennela Kishore tried to attract with their comedy but they tasted very limited and nil success. Posani Krishna Murali, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, Bharat, Jai Prakash performed according to their roles.

Technical

Devi Sri Prasad's music is just ok. Most of the songs are situational. Couple of songs are good and well shot. He made good impact with the background score.

Cinematography of Karthik Ghattamaneni captured the scenic beauty quite well beautifying the film. Editing of Sreekar Prasad could have been better as there are many drags in the film which slowed the narration.

Director Kishore Tirumala could have added few more entertaining elements toning down his preachy dialogues for better impact. Production values are good.

Analysis

Kishore Tirumala who connected chords with his debut film Nenu Sailaja with emotional elements, though failed to do the same with his next in Vunnadi Okkate Zindagi, now came to attract movie lovers with Chitralahari.

He starts off in a similar fashion and highlighted the human emotions in an interesting manner. The narration however slows down with the passage of time and this tests the patience of movie lovers as there are very few entertaining elements.

The first half ends with good interval twist. Second half starts on a similar fashion and sails off in a smooth manner. Kishore Tirumala though tried to highlight the value of life, how failures are stepping stones to success and trying to inspire youth, most of the time forget to entertain them and tried to be preachy with his dialogues.

Kishore Tirumala's story is nothing new but he generated interest with his narration. He attracted to an extent with his screenplay and direction. He has taken few cinematic liberties and as the film has no entertaining elements, it has to be seen how it attracts B, C movie lovers who play important role for the success of the film at the box office. Over all for all his hard work, Kishore Tirumala turned Chitralahari into a below average entertainer.

Final Talk

Chitralahari crash lands.
