Story

Rishi (Mahesh Babu) CEO of Origin Inc in USA is a man on a mission to rule the world. A surprise gettogether however brings back memories of his childhood and college days and he inquires about his friends Pooja (Pooja Hegde) and Ravi (Allari Naresh) and comes to know about shocking developments in his life.

To findout those shocking developments and how it changes the future of Rishi, enjoy Maharshi on silver screen.

Performances

Mahesh Babu as usual attracted with his handsome and charming personality. He made a good impact with his screenpresence. He performed well showing right kind of expressions and emotions and impressed with his dialogue delivery. However except for few subtle variations as a student, CEO and farmer, there is nothing much in the appearances. He could have avoided few dance moves which again left viewers left in splits of laughter.

Pooja Hegde got a limited role and became just a glamor doll. She attracted with her looks and beauty. Allari Naresh surprised all not this time with his comedy but with his emotional and sentiment scenes.

Jagapathy Babu's role is ok but could have shown in a more powerful manner. Others like Prakash Raj,Vennela Kishore, Sai Kumar,Jayasudha, Tanikella Bharani, Kamal Kamaraju performed according to their roles.

Technical

Devi Sri Prasad's music failed to attract movie lovers. None of the songs are attractive though they are shot in a lavish manner. His BGM too remained in the same manner except for elevating few scenes. Mohanan with his cinematography beautified the film capturing the scenic and natural locations beauty. Editing of Praveen left a lot to be desired. There are many drags in the film which tested the patience of the movie lovers. Director Vamsi Paidipally should have worked on the script and included few twists and turns, novel scenes and also entertaining elements for better result. Production values are rich.

Analysis

Vamsi Paidipally got the golden chance to direct Super Star Mahesh Babu's milestone 25th film. He tried to make it memorable by showing Mahesh Babu in a stylish, rich and powerful manner and at the same time give powerful message to the society.

He started off showing Mahesh as a CEO of a MNC and then showed his journey as a student and then showed him fighting for the farmers. Though it looked interesting on paper and Vamsi included a powerful message to the society, the importance of farmers and farming, everything was lost due to uninteresting narration and flat story, screenplay and direction.

Right from the beginning, Vamsi decided his target audience is multiplex and A centres and completely ignored masses who have the power to turn a film into a blockbuster. He drastically reduced entertaining and comedy elements and even commercial elements.

Most of the dialogues turned out to be repetitive and scenes too and after a point in the first half, the story and narration dragged completely testing the patience of the movie lovers. Only Mahesh Babu's screen presence turned out to be the saving grace.

Vamsi in order to elevate the heroism of Mahesh Babu, increased his screen presence but failed to elevate the heroism as he inturn reduced the characters of Jagapathy Babu and others into mere caricatures. Except for Mahesh, all others passed through the motions.

Vamsi's story has no novel elements and it brought back memories of Shah Rukh Khan's Swadesh and Mahesh Babu's own Bharat Ane Nenu and Brahmostavam. This inturn made movie lovers look restlessly towards the exit doors. Many are left wondering how could Vamsi and even Mahesh ignore Mahesh's fan following among children and masses and both the sections are deprieved of any real entertainment.

Overall the film may win many accolades and even win awards for the message oriented content but one has to wait and see how it performs at B,C centres and A centres.

Final Talk

Maharshi message goes wrong.
