Hyderabad: It is already known that AP government is not leaving social media activists who are posting objectionable cartoons. Political Punch page admin Inturi Ravikiran was arrested and then released on bail. A SC/ST atrocity case has been clamped against him.
With netizens firing on the government for acting against freedom of speech, AP government's media advisor Parakala Prabhakar alleged that it was YSRCP leaders who first complained about Ravikiran.
He said that on July 31, 2014, a complaint was registered against Ravikiran and he said that the complaint was filed by YSRCP cadres. Parakala recalled that the complaint was about the same (freedom of speech) and said that YCP is counter alleging after he was arrested!
Parakala reiterated that character assassination will not spared. Probably Parakala may not want to talk about the character assassination of YSR or YS Jaganmohan Reddy by TDP leaders, Ministers, MLAs day in and out. Parakala said that they are ok for constructive criticism and not objectionable satires and cartoons.
Parakala said that AP government gives maximum priority for freedom of speech. Is that why CM or Lokesh keep saying in meetings to stop watching Sakshi or reading Sakshi paper?
