Amaravati: Lagadapati Rajagopal shot to fame in a shocking manner with his pepper spray act in the parliament opposing the creation of Telangana. Apart from that he is also known for his pin point and near perfect surveys, predictions and analysis during elections. Almost everyone waits eagerly for the surveys from Lagadapati and he gained popularity as Andhra Octopus. Now people and parties are waiting eagerly for his survey predictions in AP and Telangana. Couple of weeks back few surveys came attributed to him but he rubbished all of them.
On his credibility for pin point and near perfect surveys which many reputed media houses couldn’t get, he revealed the secret. He said ‘Many are under the impression that more the sample size, the survey finds will be right. However that is wrong. It is not important whether the sample size is large or small. What is important is the selection of people for the survey. One can predict the AP assembly results by surveying 50 people in 5 constituencies. The selection of those 50 forms the crux of the successful survey. One cannot predict how many seats each party will get, but we can predict the winner easily. Cellphone surveys don't give accurate findings. Recently my team conducted cellphone and onfield surveys in Karnataka. Even in AP and Telangana we did the same. However the findings are completely different. So phone survey is bogus. Another important things is there are silent and vocal voters.. It is difficult to catch the pulse of the silent voters. Because of them TDP won last time. Generally many predicted tough fight between YSRCP and TDP in the last elections based on vocal voters. However silent voters decided the results.
Silent voters change their decisions quickly and they don't watch news channels and so it is difficult to catch their pulse. If surveys conducted 10-15 days ahead of the elections are perfect, then one can now the public pulse”. Lagadapati already revealed that he has the survey results of all the four states and will release after the completion of the polling.
