Amaravati: AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu is facing the most difficult times in his political career. For the first time he fought elections without any alliance in AP though one may say, he has secret understanding with the Congress.
He is fighting bitter battle against PM Modi and the BJP led NDA alliance. He reached a point of no return taking his ideological battle with PM Modi turning it into a personal one and a prestige issue.
Had he not done so, he could have easily made a turnaround after the elections to join Modi camp had the results not come in the favour of the Mahaghatbandhan. It is known that currently Chandra Babu is spending sleepless nights to bring all opposition parties into one fold and support Congress President Rahul Gandhi's candidature for the Prime Minister post.
He planned an all-party meet of the opposition parties on May 21 in Delhi, right after the elections. But he is getting shocks aftershocks as West Bengal CM Mamata Bannerjee opposed the meet saying at that time one should concentrate on protecting the EVMs. Even BSP chief Mayawati too concurred with her.
But others say both are against Rahul Gandhi as PM and they came with this excuse. What is more shocking is both have warned Rahul Gandhi against Chandra Babu telling him that he is untrustworthy and if UPA do not get the numbers , he will not even think for a second to join PM Modi.
