MAA vows to check drug use in Tollywood

The Movie Artists Association (MAA) secretary Naresh has said they would extend its cooperation in controlling drugs use in the industry.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, Naresh urged the media to restrain from revealing the names as it was not correct that receiving notices doesn’t mean they were committed mistake. Stating that law will take its own course of action, Naresh said that calling for inquiry was different from committing crime.

Assuring that MAA would extend its full support to the artists would didn’t commit a mistake, MAA secretary said that the artists have to experience the punishment if they committed a mistake. It was not correct to link the crime to all, he said. “It is the problems of few artists and it is not the problem of industry. People have to speak only when the names revealed officially. We are also human beings and we too have families. Industry is ready to fight against drugs. It is not correct to focus cinema industry”, he said.

MAA president Shivajiraja made it clear that MAA would extend its full support to the artists who didn’t commit any mistake. He said that there was nothing wrong in punishing the culprits and the mistake was mistake wherever it may be happened. It was not correct to scapegoat the innocents and it was sad on the part of the media to telecast the news in the name of other artists who didn’t get any notices, he lamented. He said that industry would extend its full support to the Telangana state government. He urged the media to wait till the inquiry officer reveals the names involved in the case.
