Taapsee who disappeared from Tollywood silver screen after romancing many stars showed her power in Bollywood with films like Pink and Naam Shabana.
After a long time she entertained movie lovers with Telugu film Anando Brahma. The film directed by Mahi V Raghav starred Srinivas Reddy, Vennela Kishore, Tagubotu Ramesh and Shakalaka Shankar.
Taapsee who is excited about her role in the film said “I was adamant that I won't do another horror-comedy after Ganga, and repeat myself. When Mahi met me, I was clear that I won't do the film, but he asked me to hear out the script anyway. After a basic, five-minutes narration, I was impressed,“
She added “The out-of-the-box storyline got me interested. I couldn't believe that after so many horror-comedies in Tollywood, there could be any version left to be made,“ She shared “My last film, The Ghazi Attack, was a Hindi-Telugu bilingual, so yes, I have done a full-fledged Telugu film after a gap.“
When asked whether she would be the ghost in the film, she says “We want that mystery element to be there, to keep the suspense alive. Moreover, there's nothing extraordinary about my character in the film. It's an ensemble cast, where every character is important; I play a regular, homely girl, whose whole world revolves around her family. After seeing me play intense roles in Pink and Naam Shabana, this will come as a shocker to the audience.“
About the film she added “The basic hook point is that we are not going to show the ghost taking sh*t from human beings; that's passé. It's going to be the other way round -how human beings are scarier that ghosts. You'll have to watch the film to find out who the ghost is.“
About her role and the styling, she revealed “We didn't want to experiment much. My character is a classical dancer, so I wore sarees and salwar kameez for that traditional touch. I have also worn heavy paayal (anklets) throughout the film and you will see me perform classical dance as well,“
