Telangana is getting ready to celebrate World Telugu Conference in a grand manner on Dec 15. Telangana CM KCR is trying to showcase the rich culture of Telangana and the Telugu language at the event.
Harikrishna Mamidi, Department of Culture sharing Telangana CM KCR's idea to add Tollywood floor to World Telugu Conference says "The idea was the brainchild of CM KCR who wanted to rope in Tollywood filmmakers to make a film embodying the cultural heritage of Telangana for a global audience. The 40-minute documentary will encompass all aspects of life in Telangana — historic moments, ethnic arts and crafts like Nirmal paintings, Bidri, Dokra and oil paintings of Adilabad, handloom weaves like Pochampally, Gadwal, Gollabhama, festivals and jatras like Bathukamma, Sammakka Saarakka etc."
Three crores are spent on three songs and in Holi song Vijay Devarakonda, Mehreen will be seen under the direction of Vamsi Paidipally while Nandini Reddy is directing the Batukamma song on Regina Cassandra and Malavika Nair. Harikrishna shares "Harish Shankar is directing a song eulogising the contributions, poets and writers of Telangana have made to Telugu language. The song is designed like Mile Sur Mera Tumhara and will feature a montage of an array of Telugu matinee idols," He adds "This documentary will be screened at the inaugural ceremony of the World Telugu Conference."
6000 delegates from across 30 countires will be attending the event for which President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu are the chief guests. The event is organised to celebrate Telugu getting classical language status last year.
