Air India goes for sale!

Mumbai: This is heart breaking but public owned Air India has been put up for sale by the Centre.

The Centre has withdrawn its stakes from the airlines company. To this effect Union Minister Jayanth Sinha made an announcement. The entire exercise will be finished by the end of 2018 he said. He added that it would take another seven to eight months to know who would buy Air India. Meanwhile Indigo offered to buy the airlines company.

While government had plans to retain 26% stakes in Air India, NITI Ayog recommended to sell off the 100% stakes. With over 52,000 crores loss riding on its back, centre took the call of it sell off!
