Fate of 2000 notes

New Delhi: So what would be the fate of the new 2000 notes? Will they face a ban too as rumoured? Will they be demonetized in a year? These are the questions we have ever since the new currency note was released after PM came up with the demonetization call to see that people don’t hoard so much currency with them!

However Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told to Parliament that they have no such idea to withdraw the newly introduced 2000 currency notes. Still economic experts are of the feeling that government may not go for a blanket demonetization of the 2000 notes as was the case with 1000 and the 500 notes it may still withdraw all the 2000 notes that come to the bank and might replace them with smaller denomination notes.

Meanwhile the cash crunch following Demonetization comes haunting again with even banks flashing the ‘No Cash’ Boards in addition to ATMs, though in January and February things eased.
