Hyderabad: Body of the Telugu software engineer Ralla Janagama Madhukar Reddy, who committed suicide at his flat in Seattle in the US last week, arrived in his home town Bhongir on Tuesday.
Tension prevailed at his house as Madhukar's wife Swati was physically assaulted by the deceased's family members accusing her of forcing her husband to end life. They had marital conflict for some time and that was stated to be the reason behind the techie's suicide.
Swati was assaulted by the deceased’s family members, including women, men and youths when she arrived there to attend the funeral. Blaming Swati for his death, they asked her to go away. The incident led to tension in the area. Visuals from local media channels showed a big crowd pushing and pulling her even as a man was seen randomly throwing in punches at the centre of the gathering. Swati’s mother, who accompanied her, escorted her to the police station where they filed a complaint against the family members of the deceased.
The 37-year-old techie was found hanging from a fan in his house in Seattle on April 4. His wife was also working as a software professional in the northwestern US city. The couple, who recently moved to their new home, has a seven-year-old daughter. Before ending his life, Madhukar reportedly sent a mail to his parents, requesting them to forgive him.
