Hyderabad : TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced the names of three leaders from his party to file nomination for Rajya Sabaha seats.
During a party leaders’ meeting at Telangana Bhavan here today, the Chief Minister finalized the names of Santhosh Kumar, TRS general secretary and his nephew, Lingaiah Yadav and Banda Prakash for two other seats. The elections for the Rajya Sabha will be conducted on March 23 and the results will be declared on the same day.
While Santhosh Kumar has been the key player in the TRS party since its inception, the Chief Minister preferred him to the Upper House of parliament. KCR picked up other two members as per caste and community equations in view. Yadavas given due share as promised and Lingaiah Yadav from Nalgonda got the second ticket for the RS seat. Also B Prakash is the third person that the Chief Minister chose him for RS seat from Telangana.
Though other names like Jaipal Yadav and Rajaiah Yadav were heard till Saturday, the Chief Minister finally approved the names of Lingaiah Yadav and B Prakash based on caste and community equations. Hailing from Kodurupaka in Boinpally mandal of Karimnagar district, Santhosh Kumar is highly qualified with MBA at Pune University and did his Masters degree in Personal Management. He also played a key role in party affairs and the programs from time to time.
Lingaiah Yadav was a senior TDP leader from Kethepalli village under Bheemaram mandal of Old Nalgonda district. He joined the TRS in 2015 after State formation and served the party as secretary. Similarly B Prakash, who hails from Warangal is the general secretary of the TRS and he is also highly qualified with MA and Ph D.
