Research and Analasis Wing (RAW) chief (Kabir Bedi), after seeing the international don Bob Marley (Vikram Jeet) eliminating his officers and carrying out bomb blasts decides to tackle him illegally rather than try to nab him legally due to his political connections and pressure from the top officials.

On his directions, ACP Kiranmayee (Kaira Dutt) finds out that Theda Singh (Balakrishna), a convict from Tihar Jail as the most suitable person. Theda Singh in the meanwhile starts wooing Haarika (Muskaan Sethi) and at the same time quarrel with the local gangs.

In the midst of all this Haarika comes to know that Theda Singh killed her sister Saarika (Shriya), while ACP Kiranmayee comes to know that Theda Singh is not a criminal from Bihar but landed only few weeks back in Mumbai airport. To find out more about the mystery behind Theda Singh, watch Paisa Vasool on silver screen.

Natasimha Balakrishna slipped into the role and surprises all with his new style. He looked young and he tried different mannerisms to attract his fans. He exhibited different body language and he stunned all with his energy in dances and stunts. His dialogue delivery is good. Balakrishna for the first time tried out even comedy too. He also turned singer to give double treat to all. Balakrishna fans will be completely delighted with his changed image. However few diehard fans may  be disappointed as they will be missing his trademark powerful dialogues and punches in the film.

Muskaan Sethi attracted with her innocent looks and glamour. Shriya did well in her performance. Kaira Dutt sizzled in a special song and in an extended cameo. Others like Kabir Bedi, Vikramjeet, Prudhvi Raj, Ali did their roles accordingly.

Anup Rubens music is just ok. All the tunes are routine and massy. Paisa Vasool, Pada Mari and Mava Ek Peg La are good on screen. Re recording could have been better. Background score did not make much impact. Cinematography of Mukesh is attractive.

Editing could have been better as there are many drags in the film. Puri Jagannath should have thought something new and added few twists and turns to make it more interesting. Production values are average.

Plus Points

Balakrishna's performance

Minus Points

Routine story

Screenplay, Direction

Lack of comedy

Puri Jagannath who lost his Midas touch after scoring hits like Pokiri and Temper came with Paisa Vasool with Balakrishna. Balakrishna fans and movie lovers waited eagerly to find out how the film will be as they teamed for the first time. He starts off on an interesting note showing Balakrishna in a different manner in the backdrop of powerful mafia.

But interest levels soon dips as by the end of first half, the narration turns out to be a routine revenge saga which was seen many times not only in Puri's own films but also in many more films. Even Balakrishna's character looked similar to Mahesh Babu's in Pokiri and NTR in Temper.

Second half turns extremely routine with no real twists and turns and lack of comedy proved to be the drawback. Few dialogues are good.  Puri failed with his screenplay and direction as the conflict between hero and villain turned out to be extremely weak and routine. However fans and masses do not mind any of these as there are many scenes which attract them. Others however wonder when Puri will come out of his fascination with mafia based stories.

Final Talk

Paisa Vasool for masses and Balakrishna fans.
