Police arrest Dr.Bhargav (Vijay) for the disappearance of hospital staff and doctors and Officer Ratnavel (Satyaraj), starts investigating which reveals startling truths about Dr.Daniel Arogyaraj (SJ Suryah) and the illegal practices in the corporate hospitals.
To find out more about it and how the lives of Thalapathy (Vijay), Aishwarya (Nitya Menon), Vijay (Vijay), Anu Pallavi (Kajal) and Tara (Samantha) get affected, watch Adirindi on silver screen.
Vijay showed once again why he enjoys such following in Kollywood. He slipped into the three roles effortlessly. He attracted showing different mannerisms, styles, body language in three different roles.
Kajal, Samantha and Nitya Menon did not get any chance to showcase their acting talent. SJ.Surya attracted with his performance as a villain. However his character turned out to be a routine one. Nitya Menon to some extent attracted with her performance.
Satyaraj, Vadivelu and Others performed according to their roles.
Rahman came with average music for the film. Songs and tunes are just ok. However he created powerful impact with his background score. Editing could have been far better as there are lot of drags especially in the second half.
Cinematography beautified the film. Director Atlee could have added few more interesting twists and turns to attract viewers. Production values are good.
Atlee who is known for his thought provoking emotional entertainers like Raja Rani and Theri, came with this film Mersal, which released in Telugu as Adirindi. However he came with a extremely routine entertainer but despite this he generated interest during the first half including commercial elements. However when viewers expected the story to take off in the second half, it turned out to be a torture.
Flash back episode, predictable narration tested the patience of the viewers who tolerated the first half to some extent. Though the story has a message, Atlee failed to attract with his story, screenplay and direction. To the top of it, muting of important dialogues diluted the essence and power in the story. Except masses and Vijay fans, people will find it difficult to bear the dragging narration despite the good plot with Atlee failing with his story, screenplay and direction.
Had there been no controversy by the political parties over the makers criticizing Government decisions like Demonetization, GST and doctors, film would have fizzled at the box office.
Adirindi turns out to be a mediocre affair.
