Ullas (Sunil) from Venkatapuram is money minded and goes to any extent to get the maximum by hook or crook. He makes enemies with Local MLA Ullas (Dev Gill) and earns the wrath of Patel (Shayaji Sindhe) when he cheats him by not marrying his sister but instead entering into wedlock with an NRI Laya (Manisha Raj).
However right after the marriage, he comes to know a shocking truth about his wife and experience serious troubles in his married life in US. To find out more about it, enjoy 2 Countries on silver screen.
Sunil shocks with his bulky physique and lost all the charm as a hero. He failed to attract not only with his looks but also with his performance. He disappointed movie lovers with his expressions and emotions and by doing such films he is denting his already lost image as a bankable hilarious hero.
His fans are left to wonder why he chose to do such kind of film. For quite some time he did similar kind of stale stories and his roles too did not inspire confidence or gave satisfaction that at least he tried something different despite the results of his films. If Sunil do not think of course correction he will soon fade into the oblivion.
Manisha Raj on debut tried to attract with her glamour but is successful only to a very limited extent. She did not get much scope to perform and she did not inspire any confidence either. Srinivas Reddy and Pruthvi tried to attract with their comedy but it did not evoke much laughter.
Others like Sanjanaa, Shayaji Shinde, Raja Ravindra, Krishna Bhagawan, Chandra Mohan played according to their roles.
Gopi Sunder's music and songs fails to attract. All the songs act as speed breakers. Couple of songs are melodious. His background score too followed the same trend failing to elevate the scenes. Cinematography of Ram Prasad is good. Editing of Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao could have been better throughout the film.
There are many drags in the film which affected the pace. N.Shankar could have worked on the story and the script to make it more interesting before proceeding ahead with the project. Production values are good.

Story, Screenplay, Direction
N.Shankar who impressed with the message oriented film Jai Bolo Telangana, this time decided to entertain viewers with the remake of Malayalam film 2 Countries.
However right from the start to finish instead of entertaining viewers, the film ended up giving immense torture to the movie lovers. Shankar failed with his story with his stale and illogical. His screenplay is illogical and direction is directionless.
None of the characters are elevated in an interesting manner. Sunil's character is created in the most illogical manner and the director failed to make use of the other stars in a positive manner. All the dialogues are loud and none of the scenes connected chords with the viewers either in a emotional manner or entertaining manner.
2 Countries gives too much torture.
