Ilaiah fears threat to life, seeks police protection
 
Hyderabad: Fearing threat to his life from the activists of Arya Vysya organizations, noted writer Prof. Kanche Ilaiah today lodged a complaint with the Osmania University Police Station stating he was getting life threatening calls from unidentified persons and might be killed like noted journalist Gauri Lankesh and sought police protection.

It may be recalled that Ilaiah wrote a book on Arya-Vaishya community. The Arya-Vaishyas staged dharnas across the State condemning the Ilaiah's book. At Mylardevpally, Arya-Vaishyas burnt an effigy of Prof. Ilaiah. The Arya-Vaishyas also lodged a complaint with the police against Ilaiah's book.
