Hyderabad: Once Tarnaka was a centre for silence but now Tarnaka is no more a silent place. It has become a business hub and became a busy place now. From big business establishments like Big Bazar to road side tea shops have become a common feature these days. Colleges in every street have become additional features these days besides age-old schools like St. Ann’s High School etc. More interestingly, Monday market came into existence since few years making Tarnaka a busy place.
On the other hand, staying of foreigners, who were pursuing their studies in Osmania University, at Tarnaka influencing the local youth resulting in adaptation of cross culture. The college students were creating embarrassing situations to the locals by hugging and kissing early in the morning. Several times, locals entered into rift with these college students for showing abscenary scenes at their doors. Another common feature at Tarnaka is students gang-wars as degree and junior colleges established almost in every street in Tarnaka.
Smoking cigarettes on streets violating citizen guidelines was creating chaos among the women folk. Women were afraid of seeing these scenes while walking alone on these streets. Eve teasers have their field day every day here. Stationing two wheelers vehicles everywhere was leading to traffic hardships even in inner roads of the Tarnaka. Accidents taking place frequently at Tarnaka Chowrastha as there was no traffic signal. The vehicle riders were pressing their accelerator as there were no traffic signals resulting frequent accidents leading to un-time deaths. The traffic police were with their fines leaving the traffic chaos to the wind.
The police erected new traffic signals at Chowrastha but they were unscientific resulting in more confusion to the walkers and vehicle riders. The local people have no chance to vent their unhappiness over unwanted developments at Tarnaka. They were urging the officials concerned to streamline the road-side food establishments, traffic signals. They were also urging the officials concerned to establish speed breakers at Tarnaka to stop accidents at a place where there were no traffic a decade ago.
