Students intensify stir at CBIT College, caned by police
 
Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Gandipet CBIT College as its students intensified their agitation protesting against the fees hike here on Monday.

The students intensified their agitation on Monday as the college management failed to respond to their plea for the last five days. ABVP activists, extending their support to the agitating students, barged into the principal’s room and staged sit-in. The police entered into the scene and tried to detain agitating students inside principal room leading to jostling between the students and police personnel. 

Irate students destroyed the furniture in the college. The ABVP students continued their agitation at principal room for some time. On the other hand, the college management declared holidays for one week keeping the agitations in view. The principal announced that he will talk to the management and solve the fees hike issue.

The ABVP activists and several student organizations extended their support to the agitating students along with parents. The students organized a huge rally from Gandipet to the college. They demanded that the college management withdraw increased fees immediately. The ABVP activists obstructed CBIT college bus at Shankarpally crossroads. The police tried to control ABVP activists leading to jostling. The police resorted to mild lathi-charge to bring the situation under control.
