Hyderabad: When Hyderabad Metro was launched in November there was so much hope surrounding it that it is going to be the panacea for traffic woes of the city soon.
But thanks to our rulers the prices for metro were set at such range that lower middle class commuters started feeling that its the means of commuting for them but it's for only the rich.
The number of people travelling by Hyderabad Metro Rail (HRM) is not witnessing increase but instead seeing a fall. When it was launched in November about two lakh passengers traveled by HRM every day but the number is now only 50,000.
Most of them are complaining about ticket prices and compared the price to that of public transport such as the buses. There is time saved though but it is not being appreciated by the poor who are willing to spend time and traveling by buses for the sake of saving some bucks. Will government reconsiders revisiting the price remains seen!
