Hyderabad: Congress party is gearing up to show its power in Telangana. With TRS chief KCR dissolving the assembly and readying for early elections, T-Congress too is getting ready to finalise candidates for the upcoming 2019 elections.
Though the seats of PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and few seniors are confirmed, consultations are on for the other constituencies. In the meantime many are wondering whether T-Cong can pass this litmus test.
It is known that Congress has taken the vital decision to bifurcate the state of Andhra Pradesh and pass the Telangana formation bill closing the parliament doors to win Telangana elections.
However the state leaders failed to capitalize on the favorable situation. Everyone knows that the infighting led to the defeat of the Congress in 2014 elections. While lack of leadership is one reason, other is the internal politics and infighting is the other reason. T-Cong failed to get even few seats in the last elections.
One should wait and watch whether they work unitedly in the upcoming elections. However already many Congress seniors are claiming that they will become CM if their party come to power. Though Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy come from Nalgonda district, both are not seeing eye to eye. Seniors like V.Hanupantha Rao are not listening to Uttam Kumar Reddy. It is fine if Uttam pacifies the senior leaders giving them tickets or else the fights will reach peaks.
Congress leaders are showing interest in contesting from constituencies where TRS is weak. Balka Suman is contesting from Chennur, Manchireal district. Former Minister Boda Janardhan is expecting Congress ticket from that constituency. He is hoping to win if he gets the ticket. However there is intense fight for the ticket as former MLC Premsagar Rao and Former MLA Aravind Reddy is fighting with each other.
