Who will win CBN-KCR's battle of wits

Hyderabad: Elections in two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are turning out into a mouthwatering contest. With both the ruling parties TDP in AP and TRS in Telangana treading completely different paths politically, speculation is increasing as to who will win the CBN and KCR's battle of wits.

Now that the AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu, TDP supremo more or less gave green signal to T-TDP to explore alliances with Congress and other parties to topple Telangana CM KCR and the ruling TRS, analysts are wondering whether this will once again lead to bitter enmity which one witnessed right after the formation of their governments in two states, following the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh.

AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu is relentlessly working to ensure that PM Modi will not become PM once again after 2019. He is bracing to go to any extent to achieve his mission. Similarly T-CM KCR is trying his best to decimate Congress and ensure it will not come to power at the centre. So both Chandra Babu and KCR are all set to become rivals once again.

T-CM KCR who for long planned to have early elections in the state, kept his plans secretly and executed it meticulously. KCR left all stunned by announcing the party candidates for 105 constituencies. Only KCR has the wherewithal to forge alliances with completely divergent parties BJP and MIM.

He is planning to keep weak candidates against the sitting BJP MLAs as the party helped in his mission to have early elections and trying not to hurt the MIM by placing Hindu candidates against them. Sources say KCR is planning to shoot two birds at one shot and ensure that BJP and MIM will not expand in Telangana. Opposition parties meanwhile are desperate to to work on the strategies in Telangana. If TDP-Congress alliance fructify then it may lead to bitter rivalry between CBN and KCR.

In the recent past CBN and KCR forgot their rivalries and started having good relations. However with the change in national politics, they are forced to take different decisions. Since Congress is the main rival in Telangana, KCR decided to lock horns with it while for Chandra Babu , BJP and Congress are not the main rivals in Andhra Pradesh.

Analysts are wondering whether KCR and CBN who chose to tread differently in national politice are gearing up for bitter battle in Telangana. If Chandra Babu tries to defeat KCR in the upcoming elections in Telangana ,KCR will leave no stone unturned to do the same in Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana, TDP is not the main rival for KCR. However the mistrust between CBN and KCR with CBN of the impression that KCR is helping his rivals in the centre by moving closely with the BJP leaders and PM Modi, is leading to this situation.

Chandra Babu is angry and suspects that KCR  shared the T-assembly dissolution plans with his rival, Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh. Even KCR too suspects the same that Chandra Babu is planning to help Congress financially in Telangana.

CBN is of the opinion that BJP top leadership unable to tackle him in AP is trying these politics with KCR in Telangana. KCR too is sending strong signals that if CBN interferes and works against him in Telangana, he will not keep quiet in AP. AP TDP has to decide whether people of the state are still angry with the Congress for the bifurcation or are willing to forget and forgive. However T-TDP leaders are eager to have alliance with the Congress. TDP AP sources are fearing if this will have negative effect in AP. They are questioning whether all the settlers will vote for TDP if it goes with Congress and point that even when CBN campaigned for the party in Telangana, the party lost. They also feel that by aligning with the Congress, TDP is giving a weapon to the opposition in AP and point out that if KCR becomes CM again,he will not keep quiet but work for the defeat of TDP in AP.

If Congress loses in Telangana once again, even after giving Telangana, then this affect will be there in national politics and many wonder why Chandra Babu is not taking into consideration. KCR already weighed all the options and advanced the polls and inside talk is TRS may win over 80seats in Telangana. BJP is helping KCR confident that KCR will win the elections at any cost. Unless until muslims change their loyalty and vote for the grand alliance, it is possible to defeat KCR. TDP sources are saying under these circumstances, whether it is worth aligning with the Congress. It is not wrong to think of stopping Modi-KCR jodi but when the situation is not favourable, it is better abandon it.
