Hyderabad, Jan 28: Newspaper tycoon and Eenadu group chairman Chief Minister. Ramoji Rao received a setback in the Supreme Court.
The apex court has struck down his amended petition in connection with the site on which Eenadu complex was constructed in Seetamma Dhara in Visakhapatnam. The court has expressed its indignation that Ramoji Rao has filed the petition with wrong information and warned that he would have to pay for it. The Apex Court has upheld the directions of the High Court in the case.
Ramoji Rao has said in his petition that Eenadu held only 9,200 square yards of land in Seetamma Dhara. However, land owner Varma has filed a police case against Ramoji Rao in this case. Ramoji Rao has filed a petition on this and the High Court has opined that Rammoji Rao has submitted wrong information. In his amended petition in the Supreme Court, Ramoji Rao has admitted to having 11,200 square yards and contended that he knew about it only later. The Supreme Court has dismissed Ramoji Rao’s contention and said he knew about how much land he was holding, all along.
