SL lose thriller to Aus at Perth
 
Perth, Feb 10: Australia defeated Sri Lanka on Friday in the fourth Commonwealth Bank one-day international played that WACA ground here by just five runs.

Set a target of 232 to win the match, the Lankans managed to get to 226 with one ball to spare.

They owed their effort to all-rounder Angelo Mathews whos cored 64 with four boundaries and a six. Tillekratne Dilshan scored 40, while L. Chandimal scored 37.

For Australia, Ryan Harris, Clint McKay and Michael Clarke claimed a wicket each, while all-rounder Dan Christian  and left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty claimed two wickets each.

Earlier, Australia scored 231 in 49 .1 overs. Skipper Michael Clarke top scored with 57, while David Warner and Dan Christian scored 34 and 33 respectively.

Australia, with two wins in two matches, tops the table, with India in second place and Sri Lanka in third place.

Australia takes on India in the next fixture.
