“Rashtraniki Surya Grahanam Pattindi"

Hyderabad, Feb 4: Dr P. Shanker Rao, who was sacked from the cabinet recently, has made a sensational statement against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy indirectly saying that “Rashtraniki Surya Grahanam Pattindi - Thwaralo Veeduthundi” (State under solar eclipse and it would end soon) like the earlier “Chandragrahanam” for eight-and-a-half years.

Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Saturday, Dr Shanker Rao concurred with IAS officers’ argument with regard to CBI inquiry into several scams. He also demanded that the CBI interrogate the ministers, who were involved in the scams, paving way their removal from ministerial posts.

Dr Shanker Rao said the ministers were not uneducated to claim that they just initialed without reading the files. Late chief minister T Anjaiah, who had studied up to Class IV remained in the history as one of the good administrators, he added. “The ministers are not illiterate and put thumb impressions on files. They should have rejected files which were not according to the rules”, he said. While IAS officers implement Cabinet decisions it was nor reasonable to make them scapegoats alone leaving the ministers, he said, adding that the government should order CBI inquiry into corrupt deals took place in the past 10 years.

Dr Shankar Rao said that he would campaign in every village to strengthen the Congress in the State. He also said that he would move forward with the support of SC, ST, BC and Minorities who constitute 87 per cent in the population. He said that he would strive for victory of the Congress in all the 42 MP seats in 2014 Lok Sabha elections so that AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi take over as Prime Minister. He also predicted that the weaker sections would grab power in the future.
