Bandh: CPI seeks TRS, YSRC support

Karimnagar, Feb 21: CPI State secretary Dr K Narayana has urged the TRS and the YSR Congress parties to support it for State Bandh his party would be organizing on February 28.

Talking to the media here on Tuesday on the occasion of his party’s State conference here, Dr Narayana said that the bandh was to protest against the “anti-people policies” of the Congress government in the State. He said that there would be a marathon discussion on the political situation in the convention. On alliance with the TDP, he said, no decision was so far taken by the party. He, however, said that a decision on this might be taken on the eve of the elections.

Asked about his party national leader A B Bardhan’s statement on the alliance with the TDP, he said that these proposals would be generally considered only at the time of elections.

Dr Narayana also demanded that the government immediately release the ACB report on its raids on liquor syndicates. He alleged that corruption was at its peak under the Congress rule. He said that his party’s State conference would discuss people’s problems and the future course of action. He asserted that the people’s problems were more important to his party than politics. However, decisions would be taken on some issues only at the time of elections, he added.
