CBN: 2G Verdict and eye opener

Hyderabad, Feb 2: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has said that the Supreme Court judgment in the 2G Spectrum case should serve as an eye-opener to the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.

In a statement here on Thursday, the former chief minister stated that the judgment has exposed how corruption pervaded the UPA government. He also welcomed Supreme Court's decision to cancel 122 licenses given after 2008.

The TDP president said that it was a slap on the face of the UPA leaders, who had been contending that no losses were incurred by the government and supported the government's decisions. He said the TDP has been fighting against Commonwealth games scam, Adarsh Society scam, corruption to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crores in Andhra Pradesh and other corrupt practices since the last seven years and the party's contention stood vindicated now, he said. Naidu also stressed the need to bring a strong Lok Pal to root out corruption in the country.

SC RULING A SLAP ON GOVT'S FACE: YERRAN

TDP senior leader Yerrannaidu has described the Supreme Court's judgment in the 2 G Spectrum case as a slap on the face of the UPA government.

In a statement here on Thursday, Yerrannaidu stated that the judgment has exposed how the government was enslaving itself to big corporate companies. He also welcomed cancellation of 122 licenses. He said that the inactivity questioned by the Apex Court in the case should be an eye opener to every one in the government about the all-round corruption and the inherent inertia in the Prime Minister's office. He said that at least now, the Central leaders should learn their lessons and give licenses through open bidding, in a transparent manner. He also demanded bringing a strong Lok Pal Bill, putting an end to the hide and seek game the government was playing now.
