Hyderabad, Feb 18: TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu has charged the Congress party with targeting the TDP in Telangana region by exploiting the TRS for its political gains and keeping the Telagnana campaign burning with false assurances.

Naidu said that his party’s commitment to good governance has come out in the open in the fact that all officials, who were at the helm of affairs in EMAAR during his tenure, were not subject to any probe or quizzing.

Addressing the general body meeting of the TDP Mahila wing at NTR Bhavan, Naidu said that YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was emerging as a branch of the Congress and the antics of their separation was just a high drama for public consumption.

The TDP chief said that it was true that the Kiran government exploited the Excise and Police officials for its monetary gains in bribery in the liquor syndicate scam and subject them to raids, arrests and punishment while the politicians were allowed to go scot free. He said that the YSR and Kiran governments had been driving the women folk in the State into debt trap with the false promise of making them ‘Lakshadhipathis’.

The TDP chief said that though the Kiran government promised interest free loans to women Self Help Groups, there was no adequate allocation in the State budget even this year.

Naidu said that the credit for women taking up gainful employment in rural and urban areas through networking of Self Help Groups would go only to the TDP which had pioneered the women empowerment and thrift movement and become a role model for other States in the country.
