Hyderabad, Feb 3: Police have arrested B Jeeveswara Rao, a junior doctor who is fasting for the past four days, and sent him to hospital.
Junior doctors have been agitating since the last 40 days for enhancement of their stipend and other demands. Three doctors have started indefinite fast, to mount pressure on the government. Of the three, the condition of Jeeveswara Rao has deteriorated, and police had chosen to arrest him, to save his life. Immediate medical aid was provided to Jeeveswara Rao who became very weak, with his blood pressure rising to dangerous levels. However the other two doctors are continuing their fast.
