None should resign for T: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, Feb 22: State BJP president G Kishan Reddy has made a sensational statement that it was his party’s view that no one should resign to his or her Assembly seat for Telangana, and his party would henceforth field candidates against those resigning and seeking re-election.

Talking to the media at the ‘Media Point’ in the Assembly premises, he said it was not proper for any one to resign saying that it was for Telangana and seek the support of all other parties,  while contesting for the seat vacated by them. He said his party would field candidates against such persons. Kishan Reddy said his party would soon announce this officially, and added that if his party fielded a candidate in Station Ghanapur, TRS would be routed.

Asked about both the TRS and the BJP fielding candidates in Mahabubnagar, he said it was for the two parties to prove their strengths and it was not for the JAC to decide one way or the other. He said from now on, if some one wants to resign on the Telangana issue, he or she should not seek the support of other parties and clarified that his party would not extend support. He has claimed that if they break their ties with TRS, several leaders of that party were ready to join the BJP. Kishan Reddy said that his party’s stand on Telangana was very clear and added hence there was no need for resignations. Stating that his was a national party, Kishan Reddy has said BJP was ready to support if Telangana bill was moved in the parliament.
