Implicate villa buyers too in Emaar case: Jeevan

Hyderabad, Feb 2: Former minister and senior Congress leader T. Jeevan Reddy on Thursday demanded that the CBI register cases against all those purchased villas in EMAAR Properties as well as officials concerned.

Speaking at media point in the Secretariat, Jeevan Reddy reminded that irregularities in the EMAAR Properties had caused loss of several crores of rupees to the State exchequer. Some persons had purchased villas in the EMAAR Properties with black money. Actually, they have shown the cost of villas far less than made payments with an intention to reduce the registration fee, he added.

The former minister also demanded that criminal cases under Sections 120(B) and 40 IPC be booked against the purchasers of villas. “The villas purchasers should be implicated in the case and their names included in the charge-sheet", he added.

Pointing out that the CBI was only focusing on IAS officers and APIIC Board members in the case, he felt that the CBI should seize the documents and villas from the purchasers.
