MIM workers attack former MP Madhu
 
Hyderabad, Feb 20: Madhu, former MP and CPI (M) leader sustained simple injuries when Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen workers attacked him in the Old City here on Sunday. He was immediately rushed to the Osmania General Hospital, where he was given first-aid. The Communist leader was attacked in the presence of Yakutpura MLA Mumtaz Khan and local corporator Wajid Ali.

According to reports, when Madhu had gone to the old city to visit a party worker, MIM activists tried to stop him. This led to a minor scuffle between the two sides. However, Majlis workers attacked Madhu.

A heavy police posse was posted in the old city to prevent escalation of the friction between the two parties. CPI (M) workers have protested against the attack and squatted at the Bhavaninagar police station. 

They lodged a complaint with the police and demanded that the attackers be immediately arrested. Injured Madhu also squatted at the police station, along with his party workers. Stating that he was attacked in the presence of an MLA and a corporator, Madhu has demanded immediate action against the attackers.
