Hyderabad, Feb 1: Alleging that Telangana senior leaders were being meted out gross injustice in selection of members to Legislative Council Committees, Telangana senior Congress MLC K R Amos has tendered his resignation to the membership of Estimates Committee and Ethics Committee.
Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Wednesday, Amos alleged that the government has appointed junior MLCs as Committees’ chairmen and senior MLCs as Committee members. He also alleged that most of the Committees’ Chairman posts were being filled with the Seemandhra MLCs.
He alleged that Council Chairman Dr A Chakrapani was behaving in a biased manner by not giving Chairman posts to the Telangana senior MLCs. He also alleged that seniors like him were being denied Chairman post just because he was from Telangana region. He demanded that the Council Chairman own responsibility for this injustice. Alleging that there were seniors like former PCC Chief D Srinivas and Indrasen Reddy, Amos said that they were not appointed as Committees’ Chairmen, instead a first-time MLC was appointed Chairman. He demanded that the Chairman do justice to all the regions and all sections in appointing Committees’ chairmen.
