No ‘Telangana’ Bill now: Jaipal

Rajahmundry, Feb 19: Union Minister and senior Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy has made it clear that the Telangana Bill might not come before the Parliament in the ensuing budget session.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he said the government has not taken any decision on the Telangana issue so far. He said there was need for a discussion on the issue and no such discussion has taken place so far.

Stating that as the matter was still under the consideration of the Centre, he said it was not proper on his part to comment on the matter now.

Referring to the proposed hike in the prices of petroleum products, Jaipal Reddy has asked the opposition parties not to politicize the matter. He said the government was considering the global hike in oil prices as a national crisis. He said the government was losing Rs. 1.5 lakh crores on petrol, Rs. 80,000 crores on diesel, Rs. 25,000 crores on LPG and Rs. 30,000 crores on kerosene because of subsidized pricing.
