Hyderabad, June 19: The news report telecast by ABN Andhra Jyothy channel that KTR was behind the property settlements to the tune of Rs. 100 crore caused flutters in political circles.
One Satish Reddy, TRS party’s Jubilee Hills incharge was arrested in Bhuvaneswar on charges of kidnap of a business man. ABN telecast a news linking Satish Reddy to KTR. It is now being said that it was the suspended TRS leader Raghunandan who was behind Andhra Jyothy getting that news. TRS leaders are themselves admitting that KTR closely knew Satish Reddy, though they deny his involvement in his activities.
This report of ABN infuriated KTR. He said he was giving the channel time till Thursday evening and threatened to sue it for defamation if it failed to apologize by then. However, joining the issue, Andhra Jyothy declared it had all the evidence and told KTR he need not wait till Thursday and could go to court at this moment.
The report being serially telecast, caused sensation. The report said that land settlement deals occurring in Hyderabad were the reasons for Satish Reddy and six others languishing in Bhuvaneswar jail on kidnap charges.
Who is the kingpin of this kidnap operation?
Andhra Jyothy connected it to KTR. This infuriated the TRS ranks.
According to the report of ABN, one Srinivasa Rao is a builder. He has some dealings with another builder Subba Reddy, owner of Vamsiram Builders. The two developed differences and it led to the kidnap attempt on Srinivasa Rao and his daughters. Srinivasa Rao’s daughters themselves told ABN about the kidnap story. Srinivasa Rao and his daughter told the interview that Subba Reddy threatened them through his close friend KT Rama Rao.
However, speaking to ABN, Subba Reddy said that Srinivasa Rao owed money and when he asked for it, he was making baseless allegations against him. He said all this drama was to evade the money due to him. Stating that KTR was a friend of his cousin, Subba Reddy said they knew him even before TRS was launched. As Srinivasa Rao owed them money, he questioned about the need to have KTR or someone else threaten him.
When an attempt to kidnap Srinivasa Rao was made, he told the kidnappers and Subba Reddy that one Agarwal of Bhuvaneswar owed him Rs. 100 crore and if that amount was collected, he would give a share in it. After this, a plan for the kidnap of Agarwal was hatched. Satish Reddy and others got ready for the kidnap. However, this Satish Reddy and his henchmen were caught by the Bhuvaneswar police and are now languishing in jail.
Meanwhile, Satish Reddy’s brother told ABN that though he resorted to kidnap at the behest of KTR, no one had bothered about him and had not even gone to the jail and enquired about his welfare. After this revelation, ABN telecast the report ‘Gidendi Ramanna’ (What is this Ramanna – addressing KTR).
After this revelation, KTR threatened to sue ABN on Thursday and ABN said he need not wait till then and could sue this day itself.
Meanwhile, talking to ABN Srinivasa Rao said if the government assured protection to him, he would reveal all the facts.
