When CBN used KCR's name

Hyderabad, Feb 21: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday parried questions on the TRS’ demand for a resolution on Telangana in the Assembly, by mentioning the statement of that party’s president K Chandrasekhara Rao.

When the media pointedly asked Naidu about his response to the demand of the TRS that a resolution should be passed in the ongoing Assembly session on Telangana, Naidu evaded a direct answer by reminding the media that KCR had already clarified that there was no need for a second resolution on Telangana in the Assembly.

It may be recalled that the TRS has been stalling the Assembly proceedings right from the start of the current session, demanding that a resolution on Telangana be passed.

When asked about the possibility of his taking an active part in the national politics as suggested by CPI leader A B Bardhan, Naidu said that national politics was not new to the TDP. He said that in the past, his party played a key role in the selection of two Prime Ministers and a President. He also said that he had declined, though Prime Minister’s post was offered to him twice, in the interest of the State.

Stating that the State lacked political leadership, Naidu said that his experience should be useful to the State. He said that he would become chief minister again if his party wrests power. He claimed that his life was dedicated to the service of the people. He lamented that no one in the country was now talking about Andhra Pradesh. He denied reports that he was now aligning with the NDA led by the BJP.

Stating that the government was unable to run the Assembly properly, Naidu said that if Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy could not run the House, he should better quit. He said that Congress, YSR Congress and TRS were feathers of same bird.
