Former MLA Rohit Reddy Return to Jail

Former BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy and his brother Ritesh Reddy have been sent back to Chanchalguda prison after a two-day police remand on Monday. Additionally, two absconding accused, who allegedly supplied narcotic substances to the arrested individuals, have filed petitions seeking anticipatory bail. SIT sleuths have opposed their petitions. The SIT team has questioned the former MLA and his brother regarding the drug supply chain and certain financial transactions linked to them.

According to a senior police officer, cocaine and amphetamine used at the party were supplied by three different peddlers, all of whom are currently absconding. Two of the absconding accused, Abhishek Singh and Rakesh Varma, who allegedly supplied cocaine used at the farmhouse, have sought anticipatory bail. However, the SIT has opposed their bail, stating their involvement in the supply of narcotic substances and the need for detailed interrogation.

The petitions have been reserved for orders to April 16. The SIT has identified 15 people as accused in the case, three of whom, including Singh, Varma, and a Goa-based peddler named Clinton, are currently absconding. These three individuals are suspected to have supplied narcotic substances to the co-accused caught at the farmhouse on March 13. On that day, a team of Eagle sleuths, along with Moinabad and SOT police, raided Rohit Reddy's farmhouse at Moinabad and apprehended 11 persons on suspicion of partying with drugs and firing at police personnel.

Rohit Reddy and TDP MP P Mahesh Kumar were among the accused. Six of the 11 accused, including Rohit and Mahesh, tested positive for narcotics consumption. Upon investigation, police seized 0.26 grams of cocaine, a revolver, and a live round from the other accused. Three of the accused, Rohit Reddy, Ritesh, and Namit Sharma, were remanded in judicial custody. The remaining accused have been issued notices, and most of their statements have been recorded. MP Mahesh Kumar is yet to appear for questioning due to his official work in Delhi. Rohit has also filed a bail petition in the high court, which is currently being heard.
