Hansika Opens Up About Her Divorce
Hansika Motwani and businessman Sohael Khaturiya were granted a mutual consent divorce by Mumbai’s Bandra family court on March 11, 2026, marking the end of their three-year marriage. The couple, who married in December 2022, had been living separately since July 2024 due to irreconcilable differences. No alimony was sought by either party.
Although Hansika did not directly address the divorce, she recently shared insights into her personal life during a conversation with Hauterrfly. She expressed, 'My family doesn’t pressurize me for anything. People wanted clickbait, they got it. I have never clarified it, nor will I because it doesn’t matter to me. It’s fine. I have no regrets. It’s better to get off the train if you got onto a wrong train than suffer. So it’s fine, it’s okay. I have immense support from my family. I have no regrets. So I am very happy where I am.'
Regarding societal expectations around marriage and motherhood, she questioned the imposition of timelines on women, stating, 'I was never put in that box where people said you’ve reached this age, you should get married.
There are too many people out there telling you what to do. But nowadays girls are so strong and independent that they do what is good for them.'
Additionally, she emphasized the importance of self-respect in relationships, saying, 'First you need to respect yourself, then you can respect someone else.' Finally, she reflected on love and relationships, expressing her belief that the universe will guide her, 'Love is beautiful and right now I don’t know when the time is right. I think the universe will guide me. If it’s written for me, it’s written for me.'
