Jagan Throws Open CBI Challenge to CBN!

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has stepped up his attack on the ruling TDP government, challenging Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to agree to a CBI probe into both the Group-1 recruitment controversy and the 2025 DSC examination. Jagan said he was ready to face an investigation into allegations linked to Group-1 recruitment during his tenure and questioned whether Chandrababu had the same confidence when it came to the DSC issue. The political face-off comes as YSRCP continues its protests, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process.

Responding to the government’s allegations in the Assembly that Group-1 examinations conducted during his tenure were compromised, Jagan claimed that a SIT appointed by Chandrababu’s government had already found no wrongdoing. He maintained that the recruitment process was conducted according to procedure and that there were no irregularities in evaluation. Jagan also pointed out that the Group-1 notification had been issued during Chandrababu’s earlier tenure, while the preliminary examination was completed before the YSRCP government took charge. He alleged that despite the SIT findings, the issue was being repeatedly used for political attacks.

Jagan further accused the government of making politically motivated allegations, particularly over recruitment under the sports quota, and demanded that the facts be independently investigated. He said he had written to the Prime Minister seeking a CBI probe into the alleged DSC irregularities and challenged Chandrababu to seek investigations into both controversies simultaneously. Jagan argued that those who had done nothing wrong should have no hesitation in welcoming an impartial investigation, turning the recruitment row into another major political confrontation between the YSRCP and TDP.
