'Jailer 2' Roars Past $100K in US Pre-Sales!
Rajinikanth’s much-awaited Jailer 2 is already making noise overseas, well before its theatrical arrival. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel has started turning heads in the US market, with advance ticket sales reportedly crossing the $100,000 mark shortly after bookings opened. The early momentum is particularly significant considering the strong overseas run of the 2023 original. With the makers promising a bigger scale, more action and plenty of mass entertainment, the latest pre-release numbers have added another layer of anticipation around the film.
The sequel brings Rajinikanth back as the iconic Muthuvel Pandian, a character that became one of the biggest highlights of Jailer. While the first film established the character’s impact, Jailer 2 is expected to expand the world around him with larger action set pieces and a more ambitious narrative. The response to advance bookings in the US also indicates that the franchise has retained its international pull, particularly among Rajinikanth’s overseas fan base. Trade circles are closely watching whether this early ticket-buying trend will translate into a strong opening once the film hits screens.
Adding further weight to the project is the return of Anirudh Ravichander, whose music played a key role in the success and mass appeal of the first installment. Produced by Sun Pictures on a lavish scale, the sequel also features a strong ensemble cast alongside Rajinikanth. With Jailer 2 scheduled for a worldwide release on October 15, the early US booking numbers have given the film a solid pre-release talking point. The real test, however, begins once the superstar arrives on the big screen and the advance-booking buzz turns into actual box-office footfall.
