Priyanka Chopra Kiss Row Explodes Again

Veteran actor Annu Kapoor has revisited the controversy surrounding his past comments about Priyanka Chopra refusing to kiss him in the 2011 film 7 Khoon Maaf. Kapoor clarified that his statement at the time was made out of frustration after repeated media questions during the film’s release.

The actor explained that his remark stemmed from the perception that he was not seen as a conventional “hero” in Bollywood. Kapoor said he had been informed about Priyanka’s hesitation regarding the intimate scene and had even suggested that it be removed, respecting her comfort and decision.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, 7 Khoon Maaf became widely discussed not only for its unique storyline and stellar cast, but also for conversations around consent and comfort in the film industry. Priyanka Chopra had earlier objected to Kapoor’s remarks, saying she was uncomfortable with how the matter was presented publicly.

Based on Ruskin Bond’s book Susanna’s Seven Husbands, the film featured an ensemble cast including Irrfan Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Alexander Dyachenko.
