Rajini to make his debut as a doctor?
The excitement surrounding Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Thalaivar 173, has been steadily increasing since reports confirmed Ashwath Marimuthu as the new director. Although Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) has yet to officially announce the change, a recent birthday post dedicated to the director has fueled speculation.
Sources close to the production revealed that a look test photo shoot recently took place in Chennai, capturing Rajinikanth in a doctor's attire, including a stethoscope. This marks the first time Rajinikanth will be portraying a doctor on screen, a departure from his previous role as a psychologist in Chandramukhi. While rumors suggest the story may be inspired by real-life doctors like the renowned Rs 5 doctor, specific plot details remain under wraps.
The film is scheduled to commence filming on June 26 at Sundar Studios in Poonamallee. Additionally, there are speculations that Mysskin, who previously worked with Ashwath on Dragon, will also be part of Thalaivar 173. Fans eagerly await further details about the cast, crew, plot, genre, and release date.
Originally, Sundar C was slated to direct Thalaivar 173, but following his departure, Cibi Chakravarthy was brought on board before Ashwath Marimuthu took over. Meanwhile, RKFI is gearing up for another collaboration with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, directed by Nelson and tentatively titled KHxRK Reunion.
