Sonakshi Leases Apartment for Rs 1.92 Cr a Year

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has leased out her premium apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra West locality to the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait for a period of one year. According to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix, the deal is valued at approximately Rs 1.92 crore in annual rent, with the lease commencing on June 7, 2026.
The apartment is located on a higher floor of the prestigious 81 Aureate residential tower and offers a carpet area of 4,350 sq ft, along with a servants’ toilet area. The residence will be used as official accommodation for Kuwait’s Consul General, Emad Abdul Aziz Al-Kharaz, along with his family members and staff. Registered on May 25, 2026, the agreement carries a monthly rental of Rs 16 lakh. The transaction attracted a stamp duty of Rs 96,000 and registration charges of Rs 1,000.
The luxury residence also comes with three dedicated parking spaces and access to a host of premium amenities, including a gymnasium, swimming pools, clubhouse, library, conference room, banquet hall, yoga studio, landscaped gardens, jogging tracks and a children’s play area. The high-profile lease agreement has drawn attention in Mumbai’s real estate and entertainment circles, highlighting the growing preference among diplomatic missions for premium residential properties in the city’s prime neighborhoods.
