Speeding Crash Puts Jana Sena MP’s Son in Trouble
Cyberabad Police have booked Jana Sena MP Lingamaneni Ramesh’s son, Lingamaneni Sanjush, for causing the death of a young woman in an accident while allegedly driving a car in a rash and negligent manner four days ago.
Bharathi Mukhi (26), a sales executive at a Lifestyle store in Inorbit Mall in the IT corridor of Madhapur, was killed after being run over by an Aston Martin while crossing the road opposite the mall on August 16.
Bharathi and her colleague, Pooja Ashok (26), had gone to the vicinity of ITC Kohinoor around 3 p.m. for lunch. While they were returning towards Inorbit Mall and crossing the road opposite the mall, a car (bearing registration number TG‑09‑G‑0666) approached at high speed and hit Bharathi, said K.V. Subba Rao, Station House Officer, Madhapur Police Station.
She sustained a severe bleeding head injury and was immediately rushed to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills. However, doctors declared her dead upon examination.
During the investigation, police identified the driver of the car at the time of the accident as Lingamaneni Sanjush (21), son of Lingamaneni Ramesh.
Pooja, who was accompanying Bharathi, informed the store manager where she was employed. After the store manager filed a complaint, police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and identified Sanjush.
According to police, Sanjush is a businessman and resides in Hitech City, Madhapur. “He was taken into custody the same day, and both ‘drunk and drive’ and drug tests were conducted. Blood samples were also collected and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis,” the SHO said.
A case for causing death by a rash or negligent act has been booked against Sanjush under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Madhapur Police Station.
Police have seized the vehicle involved in the accident. The investigation is currently underway, focusing on gathering the post‑mortem examination (PME) report and other evidence, the official said.
Lingamaneni Ramesh is a Rajya Sabha member from Andhra Pradesh. He belongs to the Jana Sena Party, headed by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
