Techie Among Two Held for Targeting actors’s Wife
Karnataka Police have arrested two persons, including a software professional, for allegedly sending abusive and vulgar messages against Vijayalaxmi, wife of jailed Kannada actor Darshan.
The arrested accused were identified as Nitin, a techie from Davanagere, and Chandru, an autorickshaw driver from Chikkabanavara in Bengaluru. Police tracked the duo using their IP addresses after a complaint was filed, even though the accused had deleted the offensive messages.
Vijayalaxmi had earlier accused the police of delay and inaction despite submitting evidence against multiple social media accounts. However, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh clarified that the investigation was ongoing. The arrests come amid growing concerns over online abuse and accountability on social media platforms.
