Akshaye finally getting the respect he deserved

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has expressed his delight at seeing actor Akshaye Khanna finally receive the appreciation he has long deserved, especially after his standout performance in Dhurandhar.

Sharing the film’s poster on Instagram, Rohit praised director Aditya Dhar and his team for “creating a monster,” while also cheering on Ranveer Singh with, “Ranveer mere bhai… apna time aagaya.”

He recalled watching Uri: The Surgical Strike with Aditya the night before its 2019 release and called the filmmaker’s journey from Uri to Dhurandhar “inspiring.” Rohit added, “Yeh naya Hindi cinema hai… ab yeh ghus ke marega.”

Dhurandhar, one of India’s longest films at 214 minutes, features Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and others. Inspired by real geopolitical events and covert R&AW operations, the first part released on December 5.
